dc.description.abstract In this paper new families of methods based on Gander’s theorem for solving nonlinear equations of third-order are presented. The asymptotic error constant is derived and a geometric construction is provided for a theorem to define these families. Some numerical tests are presented in order to demonstrate the good performance of some members of these families. es_ES
